This goes to show that we fail to appreciate the efforts put up by athletes and it takes a medal for them to prove their worth. It’s high time we change our attitude towards them.

And even if we don’t, these brilliant athletes will keep giving us reasons to do so.

Female athletes from India have been on the rise with tremendous accomplishments. They are giving a bold answer to all the patriarchal critique which comes along their way.

Sakshi Malik was the first athlete to bring a medal in the Rio Olympics for us. PV Sindhu showcased an exceptional performance with her silver in Badminton. Deepa Malik was outstanding in the Paralympics with a silver medal in Shot-put.

We know, most of you might know these facts but the reason to reiterate them is to highlight that female athletes are on a tremendous rise. They are achieving incredible achievements despite the merest of support from the authorities. One more girl from India has set a brilliant example for all of us.

Indian wrestler Manisha clinched a Gold medal in the 38kg category at the Junior World Wrestling Championships in Tbilisi, Georgia.
