#indvnz 2nd Odi: Nz Sets India 243 After Williamson Ton

New Zealand after losing the toss for 5th consecutive time in the series, were put into bat, and on the Kotla surface, where one expects a lot of runs, many wondered whether MS Dhoni took the right decision to bowl first, but Umesh Yadav didn’t disappoint his skipper as he had Martin Guptill cleaned up with a brilliant delivery in the very first over.

At Number 3 was Kiwis’ skipper Kane Williamson, who had a huge responsibility to show some fight against Indian bowlers, after his awful Test series and failure in the first match. Understanding the sense of responsibility, he along with inform Tom Latham played brilliant cricket with a slight fortune of luck, both added 50 in first 10 overs, and then escalated to add another 50 on board in 40 balls.

As Blackcaps’ skipper Williamson and opener Tom Latham tried to be more aggressive, India bowlers came out of the hangover of Umesh Yadav’s delivery as Kedar Jadhav trapped Latham lbw.

With Kane WIlliamson, batting in 70s, in came Ross Taylor, who was struggling to find bat on ball and he eventually vanished after he slog swept Amit Mishra only to find Rohit Sharma at deep square leg.

Corey Anderson’s innings was similar to that of Ross Taylor, as initially he struggled, then tried to counter attack but only managed to find himself plumb in front of the wicket, not only he scored exact same runs that of Taylor, 21, he was dismissed by the same bowler as well.

Soon, Kane Williamson’s 8th ODI Hundred came to end as he middled the ball, got the elevation right but ball failed to travel the distance as Ajinkya took a brilliant catch on long off. Kane Williamson scored 118 off 128 balls. Kane Williamson’s wicket triggered a downfall, as Kiwis’ slided from 213-5 to 237-9.

Pick of the bowlers among Indians was Jasprit Bumrah, who finished with 3/35 in his 10 overs while Amit Mishra also took 3 wickets.
